Early settlers of Middlebury, Vt.; Linus Everts, tax collector, remained in Cornwall, Vt., whereas Oliver Everts and several other brothers moved to Upper Canada (Ontario). The papers represent two families that were probably related but apparently not closely, members of which were originally from the same part of Connecticut and were among the original proprietors of Middlebury, Vt.
